Where's Sarah Baker???

So…. Clearly I am not very good keeping up with my blog, but in my defense, since my last post my life has been turned upside down and then flipped over and shaken, not stirred!

In January I accepted the full time position as a teacher in Mecklenburg County after working as a sub since September, and I loved every minute of it, but while I was teaching I was also looking for a position that was a little more up my alley. I tried for a while to find a job near home but nothing was working out. I finally handed it all over to God and then things got crazy. With in a week of applying to jobs in my field I had 3 interviews. In the week of interviews I also had three job offers from 2 very well known Agricultural/Genetic companies. One offer was for a job that almost seemed to be built just for me. So now here I am, in WISCONSIN!

Yes you read that correctly I am in Wisconsin, I am now a cheese head and I have already been sucked into the craziness that is Packer Country! Go PACK Go. Since I am only 30 miles from Green Bay it is really hard to escape the packer fever. Packer games are like holidays up here, which is fine by me, since there is a game almost every week!

I miss my family terribly and now think that Skype and Face time are the best inventions since fried rice. I have had my battles with homesickness but I know this is where I am supposed to be right now and I can’t wait to see what God has for me here!  My amazing family brought my big boy, Chip, up here for me once I got settled in and he is very happy in his new home! Know Chip and I just need to live through the winter that is fast approaching!

So how does a southern girl survive up here! Well it isn’t so bad! I mean I live in Dairy country! The country side up here is absolutely beautiful! The sounds of the storms are a definite adjustment. It is so extremely flat up here that you can see and hear storms from very far away. That also makes it seem like the storms last longer. Good thing I have my thunder buddy, Greg! (sorry, Ted joke) The food is different and they have a very different definition of sweet tea, but I just make my own.

I am sure that I will have some entertaining blogs in the near future about my adventures up north and I will of course provide some more funny walker clan stories, but I just wanted to fill everyone in on my life.
